Born and raised amidst the sprawling Lapco ranch in Kentucky, Dominique’s childhood was marked by days spent in wide-open spaces, playing with animals, and acquiring a deep understanding of ranching traditions passed down through generations. With a deep connection to the land, the animals, and the legacy of her family’s homestead, Lapco is where Dominique credits learning the value of hard work, resilience, and a profound importance of having a plan A, a plan B, and a plan C.
As she matured, Dominique nurtured a profound passion for education and technology. She pursued higher education at the University of Kentucky, where she acquired a master’s degree in Instructional Systems Design, graduate certificate in distance education, B.A. in Psychology, and a CBA in Innovative Leadership. Her graduate work focused not only on gathering, analyzing, and using educational data in distance learning design, but also the role of education in a culturally diverse society and the role of technology in the practice of teaching. This invaluable knowledge and constant pursuit of “learning more” helps Dominique to create modern sustainable systems for Lapco Land & Cattle Company.
Today, she stands as the Director of Technology for the very ranch that shaped her upbringing, a testament to her unwavering commitment to preserving its heritage while embracing the future. She envisions the ranch as a place where tradition and progress coexist harmoniously, where the past informs the present, and where the legacy of her family continues to flourish.
